Once again Margaret McHeyzer makes her readers stand up and take notice. Mistrust is a story about rape and how it affects the victim and the people around her.
Dakota is excited about her prom with her popular boyfriend but what is supposed to be an exciting event turns into her worst nightmare.
Ms. McHeyzer hits the nail on the head with Dakota's story and how "date rape" affects the victim and how teens can be brutal with how they treat others based on rumor alone.
Very well written and real. Kudos to you Ms. McHeyzer for writing on such a touchy subject.
If I break is a story you think you will understand how it ends but what really happens is a bit of a shock. This is not your typical love story. Portia Moore deals with a subject not many authors write about. I don't want to spoil it so I am not going to say what that subject is. Just take a chance on this series. You won't be sorry.
Very good story and I encourage you to read.
What you Left Behind is an amazing book of the struggles young teens go through when they have a baby. The struggles are real and trying to balance parenthood, school and just everyday life is so much harder then most believe.
Add to all that........ cancer, and then death and you have something you as a teen will most always struggle to understand.
This book tells the story of a 17 year old "couple". She has cancer and gets pregnant. He tries to get her to terminate the pregnancy so she can continue having her cancer treatments but she will not do it. She wants to have the baby and continue with her treatments after the baby is born. Before she dies she leave a trail of journals for him to find that lead him on an emotional journey with feelings that will make you giggle, smile and flat out bawl your eyes out.
